| Ron Story EN3, passed away December 6, 2004 from a heart attack. Ron served aboard Schofield from late 1970 to June 1974. He was a member of the "A-Gang" who was a bear of a guy and always there if you needed anything at all. Ron hailed from Parma, Idaho joining the Navy right out of high school. He is survived by his wife Cindy. |
| Rick “Richard” Michael Perock 47, of De Pere died suddenly Wednesday May 4, 2005 at an area hospital. Rick was born March 6, 1958 at St. Vincent Hospital the son of Michael and Anita (Vandehei) Perock. He married the former Joyce Kazik on August 30, 2003 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. Rick had a love for the smell of the dirt and the planting of seeds which began as a young man working with his dad on the farm, spending time at his sisters cabin, and always enjoyed lending a helping hand with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife Joyce and doing things with family, like going to the zoo with Kortney, taking Jessica ice fishing in Minnesota, becoming Tommy’s biggest wrestling fan and finally getting the big buck with Brandon. Rick also enjoyed snowmobiling on weekends. After spending five years in the Navy, Rick has been working for Meg Tec for the last eighteen years.He was also an active member of his church where he served as an usher. Survivors include his wife Joyce; daughters Jessica and Kortney Perock of De Pere; step-children Kristina (fiancée Justin), Tommy and Brandon Byrne all of De Pere; parents Michael and Anita Perock, De Pere; sisters Laurie (Jim) Dolan of Wausau, Dawn (Ron) LaCosse and Michele (fiancée Todd Byrnes) Nelson of De Pere; one brother Dale (Peggy) Perock, De Pere; mother-in-law Caroline Kazik also of De Pere; brothers-in-law, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; one great-nephew, and many other relative and friends. |

STG1 Ken Adolph passed away Tuesday, August 25, 1998. He married Janice in July of 1976 -- about a year after he got off the Schofield. He and Janice have two daughters, Tabitha & Tobi. Ken had worked as a Bio-Med Equipment Tech for the VA Hospital in Danville, Illinois. | ![]() |

YN1 Leslie Kearns passed away April 29, 1974. He served aboard Schofield from 1972 until he was transferred to San Diego Naval Hospital in March 1974. I remember him as a man dedicated to doing his best to support his shipmates. | ![]() |
